In Balance Pilates Studio is proud to announce that Amy McIver, PT, DPT has opened In Balance Physical Therapy which offers physical therapy evaluation and treatment, incorporating traditional Pilates and therapeutic exercises. In more ways than not, physical therapy and Pilates go hand-in-hand.  Pilates exercises focus on improving core stability, increasing general strength and flexibility and improving coordination, balance and proprioception.  Physical therapy also utilizes these principles to help in the rehabilitation of individuals after injuries or surgeries, for promotion of wellness and overall fitness.

Physical Therapy services available:

• Manual Therapy: Joint mobilization & Therapeutic Massage
• Therapeutic Exercise: Integrating Pilates & traditional exercise
• Modalities: Electrical Stimulation & Ultrasound
• Postural Re-Training, Balance, Neuromuscular Re-education, Gait Training and Wellness/Fitness Assessments

Amy McIver, PT, DPT, has been licensed by the State of North Carolina since January, 2005. Dr. McIver graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiotherapy from the University of Southern Mississippi and went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in 2004.  She has attended multiple continuing education courses, and has practiced a wide variety of physical therapy techniques including, but not limited to manual, orthopedic, sport related, vestibular, neurological and pediatric therapies. As a result, Dr. McIver is knowledgeable of a wide range of diagnoses and conditions and can tailor each evaluation and treatment to meet the client's needs.

Rates

Initial Evaluation - 50 minute evaluation and treatment by a Dr. Amy McIver - $130

Follow-Up - 50 minute treatment session with Dr. McIver based on findings from initial evaluation - $80
